Trusted Professional Piano Tuning That Brings Your Instrument to Life
Why Piano Tuning Matters
Even the finest instruments fall out of tune over time. Changes in humidity, room temperature, and string tension subtly shift your instrument's pitch—and over months, those changes can affect its tone, touch, and tuning stability.
Out-of-tune? You might not notice right away—but your ear does. Notes lose their clarity. Chords sound muddy. The magic fades. We restore that clarity. Your music feels alive again.
The Piano Tuner / Technician at Work
The Art & Science of Piano Tuning
It is more than just matching notes to a digital tuner. Each piano has over 200 strings, each under high tension. They vibrate with complex overtones and partials—natural byproducts of physics.
Because of its size and the stiffness of its strings, those overtones aren't perfectly harmonic. That’s called inharmonicity. A skilled piano tuner adjusts for this in every note, carefully crafting the sound so your piano sings in tune with itself across the entire keyboard.
We use precise tools, refined technique, and a well-trained ear to make that happen.
Can I Tune My Own Piano?
We get this question often—and we admire the DIY spirit!
But the truth is, it is a craft that takes years to master
.
- It requires specialised tools (not a wrench from the garage!)
- You need to adjust over 200 tuning pins—some for notes with 2 or 3 strings
- You’ll need to hear subtle "beats" between frequencies
- A wrong move can cause string damage or costly repairs
Most customers find it’s faster, safer, and more reliable to leave it to a professional piano tuner.
What You’ll Hear After a Tuning
- Richer harmonies
- Balanced tone from bass to treble
- Clear, stable pitch that holds
- Renewed inspiration to play
We also do stretch tuning, a technique that compensates for string stiffness and ensures your instrument sounds beautiful in every register.
How Often Should You Tune?
We recommend once per year, especially if:
- You play regularly
- The instrument is near windows, vents, or in a climate with seasonal changes
- twice if It’s been more than a year since the last service as it may need a pitch raise
Regular maintenance keeps your instrument sounding great and protects its internal components over time.
